Erica Campbell and more join St. Jude’s #ThisShirtSavesLives movement to end childhood cancer

If you see your favorite Gospel singer wearing a tee that says, "This Shirt Saves Lives," then that means they are helping fight childhood cancer.

Stars like Erica Campbell, Jekalyn Carr, Anthony Brown and more, were seen sporting the t-shirts during a radio-thon Thursday, March 1, 2018.

“I’m proud to be a part of the #ThisShirtSavesLives movement and support St. Jude,” wrote the nationally-syndicated Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell host on Instagram.

Those who are connected to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as Partners in Hope,  donate at least $20 monthly. They can be seen around the world rocking their "This Shirt Saves Lives" tees with pride, knowing they are helping those who desperately need it.

During a visit to St. Jude in October 2017, EEW President Dianna Hobbs encouraged readers to become partners. “Every little bit helps,” she said. “Do whatever you can to give hope to a sick child.”

Many EEW readers responded and began donating monthly, helping to further fuel the bona fide movement that has inspired donors around the world.

The social media response has been remarkable. The #ThisShirtSavesLives hashtag has already amassed 153 million impressions and raised over $6 million for St. Jude—$800,000 from online support alone.

For years, St. Jude has been easing the financial load of families of cancer-stricken children by ensuring that they never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. This is why the generous donations of the public are so important.

St. Jude’s survival rate has increased from 20 percent to 80 percent in 50 years, increasing the numbers of children who are able to grow up and lead healthy, happy, joy-filled lives. Movements like "This Shirt Saves Lives" are motivating good-hearted folks make a difference.
