The day before Thanksgiving, Seattle Seahawks’ Christian Quarterback, Russell Wilson, shared what he is thankful for—his family being at the top of the list.

During a Wednesday interview, instead of highlighting his Super Bowl ring, nearly $90 million contract, or his sprawling mansion, the man of faith gave thanks for his wife and kids.

“I’m thankful for my family and I’m just thankful for love, thankful for my wife, and who she is, the person that she is, and what she means to our family,” said Russell of his better half, Ciara Harris, a 33-year-old R&B singer, and mom of two. The couple wed in July 2016.

“I’m thankful for kids. I’ve always wanted to have kids. I’ve always loved children,” continued the 29-year-old. “I knew I was going to have kids at some point in my lifetime, but I never knew that it was going to be the greatest miracle that I would ever experience.”

He shares one daughter, Sierra, with his wife Ciara, and is the stepfather of Future Jr., his wife’s 4-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Russell continued reflecting on his reasons to be thankful, saying, “just having kids and [thinking about] what life means, and what breath means, and being able to get to wake your kids up and put your kids down to bed and put them to sleep, or go play with them, play little league ball with them.”

The glowing husband and dad beamed as he shared a sentimental memory. “I never forget changing Sienna’s diaper when she first came out,” he said. “Just those things, you realize that they change your life. So, hopefully I can always make an impact in their lives. Hopefully I can always show them what love looks like.”

Ciara gushed about her family on Instagram this Thanksgiving too. She posted pictures of her daughter, son, and husband, calling them her “princess,” “prince,” and “king” respectively.
