TRIBL collective Maverick City Music won big at the 65th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, sweeping all four of the categories in which they were nominated: Best Gospel Performance/Song, Best Gospel Album, Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.

“This collaboration — not just with Kirk Franklin, but also with the 1,500 residents at Everglades Correctional Institution — is the heart of the Kingdom,” says Maverick City Music. “For the first time ever, a singular artist won every Christian and Gospel category. This truly is a testament to what following God’s vision can do.”

Additionally, the popular group performed for the second year in a row on the live television broadcast. Chandler David Moore and Naomi Raine offered lead vocals on a rendition of the Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth hit “See You Again” during the show’s in memoriam segment music industry notables that were lost over the past year.

For the first time ever, a singular artist won every Christian and Gospel category. This truly is a testament to what following God’s vision can do.

The Grammy-winning album, Kingdom Book One, is a collaboration with gospel legend Kirk Franklin with the aim of increasing awareness of mass incarceration. It has been a massively successful time for Maverick city. Just months ago, the collective wrapped their arena tour with sold-out shows across the country, including Barclays Center in New York City.
