Things Hectic? Flex Your Faith and God Will Flex His Power
Life may look chaotic, but God hasn’t changed. When you flex your faith, He flexes His power. Learn how to raise your expectation and trust Him deeper.

Okay, so—it doesn’t look good right now. Things are kind of hectic.
If you’ve walked with God for any length of time, you know the feeling. Life comes at you swinging. Circumstances drown out every quiet promise.
Maybe bills start piling up higher than your hope. Diagnoses loom larger than life itself. Tears flow faster than you can catch them. And sometimes, hope flickers so faintly you wonder if it’s about to go out.
It’s in those gritty, nothing-left-but-faith moments that the Holy Spirit repeats a whisper: If you’ll flex your faith, I’ll flex My power. I shared this very encouragement on social media after He spoke it to me.
Faith Isn’t Just for Sundays: It’s Heaven’s Currency
Hebrews 11:6 pulls no punches: “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”
When God nudges us to “flex,” He’s not after a religious show or a perfect prayer. He wants real trust. Muscle-deep conviction that He is who He says He is. Faith is the bridge between our frailty and His might, the muscle memory that lifts burdens we could never carry alone.
When your faith needs boosting, go straight to Scripture. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”—Romans 10:17 (Credit: Krisanapong Detraphiphat/Getty)
Raise Your Expectations: God Loves Audacity
Jesus had a habit of linking miracles to expectation. “According to your faith” He’d say, just before blind eyes opened or broken bodies stood tall
(Matthew 9:29). Expectation isn’t wishing; it’s faith with its sleeves rolled up. Remember those friends who crashed through a roof just to get their paralyzed friend in front of Jesus? Their boldness pulled a miracle out of Heaven and left a crowd speechless (Luke 5:17-26). God still responds to that kind of audacity.
When Faith Walks Off the Page
Before EEW Magazine Online ever existed, our founder, Dianna Hobbs, was already living out this wild trust. When her health was under relentless attack, most notably after a ministroke and brain injury, she lost the ability to grip a pen—much less write the devotions that now inspire people around the world. Still, she held fast to God’s promise to “perfect that which concerns” her (Psalm 138:8). It began with shaky, barely legible notes. Those became sentences, then paragraphs, and eventually, widely-read posts. Her story is one written in real time, powered by a faith that simply refuses to fold.
Here’s the truth: you don’t need a stage or a spotlight for your story to matter. Maybe you’re a single mom stretching every dollar, a caregiver praying over a loved one, or an entrepreneur staring down payroll with nothing but a promise. God sees you, and every ordinary day becomes a platform for Him to show off.
Three Ways to Flex Your Faith Today
Speak God’s Truth, Even When Reality Disagrees. Ezekiel stood in a valley of dry bones, and God told him to speak life over what looked hopeless (Ezekiel 37:1-10). Your words can shift the atmosphere.
Obey When Obedience Feels Ridiculous. Naaman had to dip seven times in the muddy Jordan River before healing came (2 Kings 5:14). Sometimes, breakthrough waits on the other side of what doesn’t make sense.
Praise Like You Know the Ending. Jehoshaphat sent a choir ahead of his army, and worship scattered the enemy before a sword was even drawn (2 Chronicles 20:21-22). Praise puts you in position for victory, even before you see it.
Maybe today, all you see is a pile of rejection letters or a doctor’s report you wish you could un-read. Just remember: clouds never cancel the sun, they only hide it for a minute. God’s power didn’t retire after the Red Sea parted or after Mary rocked Jesus to sleep. He’s still moving, still mighty, still in the business of doing what only He can do.
So go ahead and flex. Pray like Heaven’s listening. Plan like provision’s on the way. Praise like the victory parade’s already rolling down your street. Because sooner or later, God’s power will break through, brighter than you dared to imagine, and you’ll know (In fact, everyone will know!) the arm of the Lord is as strong as ever (Psalm 89:13).
A Prayer for Audacious Faith
Father, thank You for promising to match my faith with Your power. Forgive me for letting my problems set the limits of my faith. Today I choose to flex my faith, to speak Your truth, to obey when it’s hard, and to celebrate before the answer comes. Show Yourself strong in my life, so others will see that You still do wonders. In Jesus’ name, amen.
