Prayers Up: Model and actress Kim Porter died from pneumonia

LOS ANGELES (AP/EEW) — Coroner office officials say former model and actress Kim Porter died last year from pneumonia.

The Los Angeles coroner’s office on Friday released the results of its investigation into Porter’s Nov. 15 death. Investigators determined after an autopsy that her death was from natural causes.

The 47-year-old was also a former girlfriend of Sean “Diddy” Combs and the pair had three children together. Combs eulogized Porter at her funeral in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia. Numerous celebrities attended the ceremony, which ended with fireworks.

Porter also has a son, actor-singer Quincy Brown, from a previous relationship with R&B singer Al B. Sure.

Combs called Porter “more than a soul” mate in a tweet after her death.

According to a social media post by Dove Award-winning Christian contemporary singer Nicole C. Mullen, Porter had given her heart to the Lord before her sudden death.

“A few months ago, a good friend of mine reached out to me. She wanted me to know that a super model Kim Porter, (who had given her heart to Christ) was being discipled. They wanted to know, if they could connect us,” she shared.

Mullen, the 51-year-old love interest of gospel singer Donnie McClurkin, said, “I told them, ‘Absolutely.’ I looked her up and began to pray for her. I’m not sure what happened, but beyond that, our paths did not cross.”

Since Porter’s passing, prayers, love and support have poured in from the faith community.

Bishop T.D. Jakes said in a statement, “The beauty of love is that it knows no limits; not even death can contain the love established during her life. I empathize with your feelings of sorrow, yet I hope for the memories made and laughs exchanged to be cherished most.”
