Gospel and R&B singer, Kelly Price, is madly in love with her new husband, Darrell Crump, and is gushing about the man she calls her “greatest supporter.”

In a multi-part, sit-down interview with VLAD TV, the “He Proposed” songstress shares never-before-revealed details of the “incredible” way her spouse of one year popped the question and the journey that led them to love.

According to a beaming Price, the pair met more than 15 years ago while she was still married to her first husband, Jeffrey Rolle, from whom she split after 23 years of marriage. The divorce was finalized in 2016.

Price maintains that she honored her marriage at the time, and there was “no funny business going on” when she first encountered Crump “after singing at his Godfather’s church.”

“His Godfather knew that he would come to church if he knew that I was singing, so he actually came to hear me sing that day,” said the vocalist whose music industry career spans more than three decades. “I met him that day and didn’t see him again until almost three years ago.”

Once the couple began dating, the Queens, NY bred star kept a tight lid on the relationship and was accused of hiding her new man because she did not post Crump on social media. But she clarified in the interview, “He’s not my secret; he’s my business.”

Now she is finally ready to share her business with others, particularly the “really, really incredible proposal” Crump staged.

“He sent me to go get my nails and my feet done and have a day of relaxation, and when I came back to the house, I thought that the power got cut off because it was completely dark, and there were candles all over floor,” Price said. “There were rose pedals everywhere.”

The elaborate trail of roses and candles in Price’s four-story townhouse led to the living room on the second floor in front of the fireplace, where there was a “big heart” made of rose pedals.

“He was in the middle of the heart, down on one knee with a ring,” Price recalls of the day she said yes.

Now that the Grammy-nominated solo artist’s love life is on track, she is ready to get her singing career back on track since overcoming a near-fatal case of COVID-19 last year, during which Price said she flatlined.

These days, she says, her lungs are “feeling really, really good,” as she gears up to get back to the stage.

“I need to sing, because I need to exercise my instrument,” explained Price, adding, “My voice did get weak because I hadn’t been using it.”

Through practicing and working with a vocal coach, Price’s voice is expected to make a full recovery, as her lungs, she says, are now at “100 percent capacity.”
