Ciara and Russell Wilson encourage kids to dream big with new children’s book ‘Why Not You?’

Ciara sings. Russell balls. But that’s not all. The successful Christian couple has now released a new children’s book, and we’re all here for it.
Why Not You? (Random House Books for Young Readers) is both inspirational and lyrical. It teaches kids to aim high and see themselves achieving their dreams—even if those dreams seem outrageous.
And who better to tell them that than a Grammy-winning recording artist and a Super Bowl-winning quarterback?

The book is named after the Why Not You Foundation, first launched in 2014 by Russell, 33, with a focus on education, children’s health, fighting poverty, and empowering today’s youth.
“Our parents used to say to us, why not you?” Russell told Good Morning America in a sit-down interview alongside Ciara, 36. The elite athlete told the co-hosts that that his father would always ask him that question to plant seeds of possibility in his heart and mind at an early age.
“I think that’s the subconscious but yet conscious question we all have to ask ourselves, no matter how old we are or how young we are,” the Seattle Seahawks star said.
The book, which features vibrant, fun illustrations by Jessica Gibson, fills the whimsical pages with diverse children—something Ciara said was intentional.
“The why not you attitude is for every child in the world,” said the “Level Up” performer. “We wanted for every child to look at this book and for them to see themselves in it.”
The husband-and-wife team that has been married since 2016 is shaping young minds of their own. Russell and Ciara are the proud parents of 19-month-old son Win Harrison, daughter Sienna Princess, 4, as well as son Future Zahir, 7, whom Ciara shares with ex Future.
The multi-hyphenates are inspired to spread the love and inspiration they give to their children to others.
“Every kid should be able to dream big,” said Ciara. “And if you have a why not you attitude, the sky is the limit.”
