ATLANTA, GA — Just weeks after winning one of the highest honors in gospel music at the 2025 BET Awards, Memphis native and rapper-turned-gospel collaborator GloRilla is facing legal trouble.
The 24-year-old artist, born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was arrested this week on felony drug charges after a burglary at her home led authorities to discover what they called “a significant amount of marijuana.”

GloRilla, who rose to gospel prominence with her chart-topping single “Rain Down on Me” featuring Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music, Kierra Sheard, and Chandler Moore, voluntarily turned herself in on Tuesday and was released the same day on $22,260 bond, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest followed an early morning burglary reported at her Atlanta-area home around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Woods was not at the residence at the time, as she was performing during halftime of the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis the night before.
Authorities say three individuals broke into the home and were attempting to steal items when someone inside fired a weapon at them. The suspects fled and are not believed to have been injured.
While investigating the scene, deputies reported detecting a “strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics,” which prompted a drug task force to obtain a search warrant. The sheriff’s office said marijuana was found “in plain view inside the master bedroom closet,” leading to charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
Neither Woods nor her legal team has publicly responded to the charges at this time.
The arrest comes on the heels of a milestone moment for Woods, whose gospel collaboration was widely praised—and criticized— in the Christian and mainstream music communities. Her BET win in June marked a significant crossover moment for the rapper, who credited her faith and upbringing in church during her acceptance speech.
The investigation into the burglary is ongoing.
