Scripture #1 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Colossians 4:2)

What is it to be devoted in prayer? The Greek word means to be constantly diligent, steadfast, and attentive. Whether you’re home alone, running errands, in the middle of cooking dinner or at an important meeting, any time is the right time to pray. Do it constantly—and don’t forget to be thankful!

Scripture #2 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)

Prayer paired with faith works, but one without the other is useless. Consider this: what good is asking if you have no expectation that God will grant your request? Jesus taught His disciples that believing comes before receiving. So, trust God to respond favorably to your petitions.

Scripture #3 “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” (Jeremiah 29:12)

God said these inspiring words to Israel while they were in captivity. Although they had to suffer a while, He promised that His good plans would manifest in the right season. If you have been down lately because your prayers have gone unanswered, hang in there. At the right time, God release the blessings He has for you. In the meantime, don’t stop praying!

Scripture #4 “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6)

Those who pray privately win publicly. It is not what you do on the stage that sets you apart but what you do behind the scenes. Prioritizing your prayer life when no one is watching gets God’s attention. He passes out great rewards to individuals that diligently seek Him!

Scripture #5 “And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1 John 5:15)

Did you know that faith-filled prayer is a huge confidence builder? It’s true! You can be going through the ugliest, most difficult circumstances. But if you pray knowing in your heart that God has heard and will answer, you will have peace in times of confusion, joy in times of sorrow, and a positive outlook in negative situations.

Scripture #6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

Prayer is a great remedy for anxiousness. How so? Have you ever been worrying and stressing constantly over a situation but felt better after talking to someone about it? We all have. Think about how much more powerful it is to communicate with someone who not only listens but has power to change things for you. We all feel anxious at times, but still be prayerful, thankful, and intentional about placing your hope in the Lord when life gives you a million reasons not to.

Scripture # “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.” (1 Chronicles 16:11)

The weaker your prayer life, the less spiritual strength you have. To be effective and strong enough to handle things that are thrown your way, stay connected to the Almighty. He fortifies and lifts those who continuously seek Him through earnest prayer and devotion. Don’t rob yourself of the strength that is available to you through Christ. Go to God in prayer!

What awesome Bible verses to invigorate your prayer life! Read them often, especially when your communication with God is lacking. You’ll be instantly motivated to resume your all important talks with Jesus.
