What does the Word say? 6 common complaints and a Scripture to address every single one

Throughout life, because things are imperfect, you might feel justified in complaining. But complaining displeases the Lord and hinders breakthroughs (Numbers 11:1-3).

This is why it is so important to seek the word of God, which has answers to every complaint, so you can see life’s issues through the Father’s lens, and speak the word instead of your worries. Here are 6 common complaints and a Scripture to address each one:

COMPLAINT #1

You say: I am feeling so weary, weak, and worn out, like I just can’t take it anymore. I have been praying for God to work this problem out, and He hasn’t done it. I’m sick of this!

The Word says: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV)

COMPLAINT #2

You say: I have been working diligently and serving God faithfully, but it seems like folks that aren’t living saved like me are enjoying abundance, and here I am struggling. What’s the use in being faithful?

The Word says: “Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.” (Psalm 37:1-3 NLT)

COMPLAINT #3

You say: I believe God, but why does it take so long for Him to answer me? Waiting is too hard, and I’m getting discouraged. I’m over this.

The Word says: “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:30-31 KJV)



COMPLAINT #4

You say: The bills are piling up, and I’m robbing Peter to pay Paul. I don’t have enough, and it’s one of the most frustrating things—ever!

The Word says:  “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:12-13 NIV)

COMPLAINT #5

You say: I am always working, helping, and serving others. I don’t receive any acknowledgement, and no one helps me. I’m going to quit, because honestly, I’m sick of it!

The Word says: “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24 NLT)

COMPLAINT #6

You say: This world is going crazy. Christian values are being rejected, and anything goes nowadays—even in the church. The fact that our faith leaders aren’t living holy is disappointing. You hardly know what to believe anymore these days!

The Word says: “What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God's faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."” (Romans 3:3-4 NIV)

As you see, the Bible speaks very clearly to our troubles, concerns, and even our internal contradictions. It is paramount that you search out Scripture. It is a roadmap to help you navigate the rocky, and sometimes tricky, roads of life.
