Since around 2015, the number of doctors in my life has grown significantly, because I have had a lot of different ailments requiring the attention of various specialists.

I have experienced everything from general care to critical care, and sometimes, it honestly all feels like a blur. These days, when I get to talk to a doctor or nurse for something routine and nonserious, like I did yesterday, I feel thankful.

During a brief conversation Tuesday with a nurse, who is also a believer, about something unrelated to my health, she mentioned that she had been fasting and praying for me and my family.  That made me so excited!

It was a reminder for me that God is everywhere and always working. I got a chance to see a real, live representation of the intersection of faith and medicine. The two can work together.

On my podcast today, I was talking about this very thing, because sometimes we dismiss the miracle of modern medicine as a divine means of healing. But God can work through anything and anyone! In order for Him to do that in your life, though, you have to be less rigid. To be rigid means to be unable (or unwilling) to bend, not flexible.

God wants to do a new thing. When He takes you through territory that is unfamiliar, uncomfortable, and uncertain, that means He’s about to do something unprecedented. Get ready for greater, friend!

I’m reminded of the funny story in Numbers 22 about a donkey who belonged to Balaam, a prophet who had been bribed to put a curse on Israel. But an angel showed up to oppose Balaam and make sure that he didn’t accept that wicked offer.

However, the donkey saw the angel before Balaam did. So, Balaam, assuming that the donkey was just stubborn, beat the poor animal. But then God opened the donkey’s mouth and it talked backed. Ha!

That bizarre conversation happened right before God opened Balaam’s eyes to see the angelic being that was there all along and had stopped the donkey in its tracks.

Case and point, if God can use a donkey, He can use anyone or anything. Therefore, we can’t box God in and try to dictate how He will move, what thing or person He will use, or in what manner He will speak. He has all sorts of ways to bless us.

When we become less rigid and more open to receive, God will then open the windows of Heaven and pour out blessings for us. He will connect you to people who were never on your radar, send resources from places you wouldn’t expect, and give you access to places you could never have dreamed of entering.

That’s the kind of God we serve. Just open your mind. Say, “Lord, please help me be more flexible.”

The more flexible you are, the more God can flex on your behalf. See how that works?

There’s more He wants to do for you, and it’s all good.

To remind you of this truth, I’m stirring the first portion of James 1:17 into your cup of inspiration, which says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above…”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, open your heart to believe and your hands to receive all the amazing blessings He has in store for you!

God, thank You for making me aware that there is more You want to do for me. If there are areas where I am too close-minded, inflexible, and stuck in my ways, please reveal it to me. I want to be open to receive everything You have for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.e has stored up just for you!
