Article By Gwendolyn Staples // EEW Magazine // Encouragement

Seasons change. You can go from a peaceful season to a stormy one in an instant. When that negative shift happens, you need to fortify your heart with God’s word.

If you are seeking encouragement when the going gets rough, EEW Magazine Online recommends these 6 scriptures to help you remain strong and encouraged through the battle.

Isaiah 59:1 NIV – “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.”

2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV – “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

Matthew 7:24-25 NIV – “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”

Life gets hard for all of us, but it is proven that those that regularly read Scripture are stronger in their faith than those that don’t.

Psalm 118:17 NIV – “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.”

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NIV – “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

2 Corinthians 12:10 NIV – That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Add these verses to your spiritual weapons arsenal and whip them out when you feel yourself growing weary as if you’re about to faint. God’s word is the best equipping tool for storm seasons and every season—good and bad.
