Nonprofit leader Dianna Hobbs thanks donors for generous support on Giving Tuesday

Dec. 3 was Giving Tuesday, a global movement to unleash the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.
“My ministry team and I appreciate your generous donation on #GivingTuesday this year,” said Dianna Hobbs, CEO of Empowering Everyday Women Ministries, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides free Christian resources and humanitarian aid around the world.
In a message to donors posted on the nonprofit website, she continued, “Our hearts are so full. You have helped exceed any goals we set, and your generosity is fueling the engine of our missions efforts this holiday season and beyond.”
"We are a nation of generous people," said Barbara Stewart, CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency for volunteering and service. "Giving to organizations you care about is an important part of our role as citizens.”
According to the latest "Volunteering in America" report, produced by CNCS, the spirit of generosity is on the rise. Half of all Americans (52.2%) donated at least $25 to charity.
Hobbs and her team are certainly on the receiving end of the increase in generosity.
The 43-year-old women’s ministry founder, blogger, podcaster, and author, who is well known for her philanthropy efforts, said in her message of gratitude, “Your tax-deductible gift helps us share the gospel of Jesus Christ with even more people; offer free Christian resources; provide no cost literacy education and training; donate shoes and clothes to the homeless; fight hunger; expand our inner city outreach in our local community; and give more global humanitarian aid to those who are hurting and need it most.”
In 2019, Empowering Everyday Women reported its most generous year of giving yet with numerous outreach initiatives and donations of goods and finances. Just this past Thanksgiving, the ministry launched a food drive that put food on the table for hungry families around Western, NY.
Charities and nonprofit programs like Hobbs’ count on the generosity of strangers in their efforts to meet the needs of strangers.
“I am touched that you believe in this vision enough to sow in to it,” continued Hobbs, also first lady of City Church Buffalo, an urban church plant in the inner city of Buffalo. “Your partnership and love in action is a blessing, and you will be richly rewarded,” she said, quoting Psalm 115:14, “The LORD shall increase you more and more.”
She ended her appreciative message saying, “Thank you a million times over.”
