Won't He do it? Ciara says ‘I prayed for a God-fearing man’ and God sent Russell

Folks want to know what kind of powerful prayer GRAMMY® Award-winning mononymous singer, Ciara, prayed to God that manifested her sold-out-to-Jesus, successful NFL quarterback husband—Russell Wilson—in her life.

“I’ll tell you a few things that I did pray: I prayed for a God-fearing man; I prayed for discernment; I prayed for wisdom,” said the 33-year-old during a sit-down interview with The Angie Martinez Show.

Before true love found the young boss, who is CEO of her newly launched company, Beauty Marks Entertainment, she was sick and tired of being hurt and mistreated in the love department—which eventually left her alone, broken, and discouraged.

“One of the most challenging times in my life [that] was new for me was obviously being a single mom. That was something that I didn’t expect to happen in my life at that time. I kind of grew up with both mom and dad,” the now happy wife and mother of two explained. “That’s what I knew. That was the vision that I saw—the mom and dad that makes [the] baby, and is together with baby, and that’s what it’s supposed to be.”

But that was not to be for her—at least not back then.

Ciara’s former fiancé, Nayvadius Wilburn, known as Future, with whom she shares a son, Future Zahir Wilburn, broke off their engagement in 2014, amid rumors that the rapper cheated on the songstress—something he denied. Whatever happened, one thing is certain: the public split devastated Ciara.

“I know that all of that made me better,” said Ciara. “I became stronger through that experience, and that experience, it felt like it was a scar at the time. It felt like it was ugly, and it wasn’t the prettiest thing when I was going through it. But when I was able to stop and reflect and be in a better place, I realized— I smiled actually— when I reflected back on life’s challenges, and I was like, that was a beauty mark.”

After that troubling season ended, Ciara said she learned her lesson, worked on loving herself more, and earnestly prayed to God for what she truly wanted in a man.

“I prayed for a man that loved kids, because obviously for me having my son—that was, if you’re going to love me, you’ve got to love him. I prayed for a man that was worldly as well, because I love to explore, so someone that’s going to edify my world is important to me. I was ready to level up,” she said.

It seems that the Lord answered her.

Now she and her God-fearing hubby, who welcomed their first daughter, Sienna Princess Wilson, in 2017, are happy, thriving, and encouraging others to keep Jesus at the center of their relationship goals.

During the intimate chat with Ciara, host Martinez noted, many times, as it pertains to relationships, God does not give us what we ask for, even though it’s what we want, because it is not what we need.

Ciara chimed in, “I did pray for what I needed, too. That’s important. We can want love, but what does that mean? I think we have to be really specific about what we’re attracting to our lives, because love can look different in different scenarios, and in different people. That’s why I think you have to be specific.”
