Many fans have been praying that former Christian couple, Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin, will reconcile and reunite.

But a certain development makes that possibility appear even less likely than when the news originally broke that Franklin filed for divorce on Monday, Dec. 20, effectively ending the romance after nine years of marriage.

According to a new Radar report, the ex-wife, 40, filed court documents requesting to say goodbye to her ex-husband’s last name and go by Meagan Monique Good from now on—an indication that she is accepting what has occurred, moving forward, and walking in her in independence.

We are here for that and her.

When Franklin, 44, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason he divorced his wife, the court filings show there was already trouble in paradise. Franklin and Good formally separated on Aug. 21, a full four months before publicly calling it quits on social media and just weeks after taking a trip to Santa Fe for Good’s birthday.

Many were shocked, but a source told People that the breakup was not surprising. Things hadn’t been good in a long time; in fact, the divorce was a "long time coming.” The publication also reported that the co-authors of The Wait, a book championing abstinence before marriage, had not been spending a lot of time together over the past year before parting like the Red Sea.

In court docs, Franklin said, Good agreed to let him handle the divorce paperwork. The agreement also indicated that they have no community property or assets and do not share any debt. Both waived the right to request spousal support and cannot return to court in the future to change this decision.

The no-fuss divorce has made it easy to keep inside details of their relationship under wraps which is unusual in Hollywood, where divorces are known to be drawn out and messy. Good, however, did not hire a lawyer or file a response to the divorce petition.

Since releasing a joint statement saying there was “no one at fault” for the breakdown in the marriage, there has been no hostility from either camp. Both said in their divorce announcement that they were “extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other."

Though this is an especially sad time, the newly single Good has been busy acting, directing and promoting her work as well as curating beautiful images of herself, fun videos, and sharing inspirational quotes online.

In a recent video, she revealed an exciting career development—that she is a director on Season 2 of the comedy series, Harlem, which airs on Amazon Prime. “This might be one of the coolest things that’s ever happened to me,” she said.

Good for her.
