Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!

After two heartbreaking miscarriages that took her “near death’s doors,” gospel recording artist Kierra Sheard-Kelly and her husband Jordan Kelly are joyfully celebrating a new baby on the way.

A rep for Sheard-Kelly, 35, confirmed to PEOPLE that she and her 32-year-old spouse of two years are “excited” to expand their family.

"I am so excited and blessed to have this opportunity to carry my prayer and watch our baby grow," said the “Indescribable” singer in a statement. "I'm most excited about raising a game-changer, loving someone so deep, and having that same impact my mother had on me.”

The road to this happy place has been long and paved with tears, sorrow, and peril. Despite that, Sheard-Kelly said, "God still showed me that He's in charge and to keep believing. I've been fearful and have worried, but God has sent me constant reminders and waves of affirmation. My husband's faith and declarations have stood in place of my lack many times.”

Sheard-Kelly credits her devoted husband, her strong faith roots, and supportive prayer community with keeping her spirits up during her season of loss and barrenness.

"He has encouraged me to know that I'm still loved had we had this moment or not,” she told PEOPLE. "I've downloaded faith-based books, prayed every morning over my womb and baby, and surrounded myself with a very supportive and prayerful community. As a result, we are here seeing our prayers answered. I've felt the presence of God in my womb, and it's been one of the most promising moments I've had in my life. “

The glowing mom-to-be married the landscaping business owner in December 2020 in a small church ceremony attended by family, then later hosted a larger ceremony. Since that time their union has flourished, and now another prayer has been answered.

“God is still performing miracles,” said Sheard-Kelly on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone who’s been praying with us!”
