As you go through life, even though you may be aware that you have victory through Jesus Christ, life has a way of making you feel especially defeated and hopeless.

Bills you can’t pay. Bad health reports. Children acting out. A failing marriage. Family conflict. Work-related struggles. Fertility issues. All kinds of stuff can beat you down to the ground.

In moments of struggle and dismay, the best way to fight worry, discouragement and defeated thoughts is with the word of God. It has a way of lifting you out of your lowest valleys and reminding you that you are victorious.

If you need a lift today, EEW Magazine Online is sharing 7 of our absolute favorite Scriptures to remind you that you have victory when you may be feeling a sense of overwhelming defeat.

As you read each passage carefully, patiently and deliberately (Don’t just skim over it!), internalize the message, believe the word of God, and resist discouragement. For, surely the Lord is with you – even when you don’t feel like it!

#1 “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” (2 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV)

#2 “Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed.” (Deuteronomy 28:6 NLT)

#3 “Weapons made to attack you won't be successful; words spoken against you won't hurt at all. My servants, Jerusalem is yours! I, the LORD, promise to bless you with victory.” (Isaiah 54:17 CEV)

#4 “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 NIV)

#5 “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.” (2 Chronicles 20:17 NKJV)

#6 “David said to the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.’” (1 Samuel 17:45 NIV)

#7 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 ESV)

A prayer for you: God I feel particularly down and defeated today. Thank You for encouraging me through Your word and reminding me that I already have the victory. In times of dismay, discouragement and disappointment, help me to always rely on the truth of Your word and resist whatever comes to pull me down.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
