Goal-digger: 5 Scriptures ambitious Christian women use to develop a winning mindset

Article By Lynn Davis // EEW Magazine // Motivation

You’re an ambitious woman of faith with lots to do and accomplish, and meeting all the demands of life isn’t easy. You don’t know how to handle everything that comes your way. Truth is, none of us does.

While life’s road can be rocky, and your to-do list can be quite intimidating, it will be much easier to rise to the occasion day by day if you have the right mentality. And what better way to develop a winning mindset than reading the word of God?

Today, EEW Magazine Online is giving you 5 highly effective Scriptures that goal-diggers use to consistently think thoughts that position them to win in life.

Scripture #1: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2 NIV)

When it comes to goal-setting and go-getting, the world says you need to be this way or that way to be successful. If you follow a secular blueprint, you may hit some benchmarks, but you won’t reach ultimate fulfillment which can only be attained by doing things God’s way. Let your thoughts be shaped by the Word and not the world.

Scripture #2: “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:8 NLT)

Your life’s purpose is too important to waste time on negativity, gossip, or other petty distractions. Since your thought life determines the trajectory of your life, what you focus on dictates where you’ll go. If you want to go higher, think higher. Elevate your mentality. Allow Scripture to mold your mindset, and aspire to live up to what it says. That’s when you’ll start making major progress!

Scripture #3: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2:5-7)

If you want to win, think like Jesus. He understood that He was God in the flesh, but He had no problem being humble and taking on the role of a servant. Winners know who they are, but they always walk in humility. Arrogance is the key to a downfall, but being humble is the key to your come-up. There is no time for bragging or boasting about personal accomplishments. Let Scripture cultivate a humble mindset in you, and you will go so much higher.

Scripture #4: “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” (Galatians 2:20 NASB)

As you pursue your goals, there will be temptation and plenty of opportunities to slip back into previous habits that led you to a place of stagnancy, mediocrity, and failure. Remember that your old thoughts, habits, and worldly patterns were crucified with Christ. The old you is dead and gone. You have been resurrected and reborn as a new person with a new thought life. Adopt a mindset that says, there is no turning back for me. I’m moving straight ahead toward bigger and better things!

Scripture #5: “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)

Pursuing goals, even divinely-inspired ones, can make life feel stressful and chaotic on occasion. That’s why it’s important to focus your mind on the Lord, and trust Him. When you do that, you will have perfect peace while you’re grinding in fast-paced, rapidly-changing situations. When your mind is peaceful and at rest, you can do more, and do it more effectively.

In addition to these verses, identify Scriptures that keep you focused on the right things, and condition your mind. If you meditate on the Word and do what it says, you can’t help but be successful.

Go get it, sis!
