Looks like the prayers of the saints from around the world have been heard and answered.

Pastor John Gray was released Tuesday from the hospital and his wife, Aventer, shared a message on his behalf on Instagram.

Next to a photo of an empty hospital bed, the Relentless Church leader, 49, who has been battling a Saddle Pulmonary Embolism and additional blood clots in his lungs, said, “The devil wanted me to die in this bed.”

He continued, “This bed was supposed to be my end. Pull the sheet over my head and wheel me to the morgue.”

The former star of the OWN reality series, The Book of John Gray, said he contemplated his “deepest fears, regrets, and triumphs,” while his life was in peril but rejoiced, saying, “Glory! Hallelujah!” that things reversed in his favor.

The praise report comes two weeks after the Greenville, South Carolina-based minister, who also co-pastors a congregation in Powder Springs, GA, was admitted into the critical care unit. Mrs. Gray, who holds two degrees—one in cardiopulmonary science and the other in health service administration – knew how dire his condition was and pleaded for a miracle while declaring words of faith over her husband of 11 years.

“No premature death!” she said.

Though Gray admitted, “I have a long way to go,” he added, “but I’m not dead-so that’s a great start.”

On Sunday, Mrs. Gray made a brief visit to Relentless Church and told attendees, “Your prayers touched heaven, and God is doing some miraculous things.”

She shouted and praised while delivering sobering news: “There’s a long road ahead of us. I implore you to please maintain your prayer posture.”

Aside from thanking the medical team, Pastor Gray acknowledge his solid-as-a-rock wife, saying, “I love you with all I have – and with all I have left.”

The couple shares two children, son John Gray IV and daughter, Theory, who both expressed how much they missed their dad when he was hospitalized.

Now the family is back together as the gradual healing journey begins, as prayers continue to pour in.
