Christian singer and actress LeToya Luckett has the perfect recipe for building strong and enduring friendships: prayer.

On a recent episode of OWN’s “Girlfriends Check In,” a digital series where female celebrity friends take part in virtual get-togethers to share laughter, support and love, the original Destiny’s Child member led her friends in an anointed prayer.

“I do feel like we should end in prayer,” said the 39-year-old at the conclusion of a chat with Keri Hilson, Eudoxie Bridges and Toya Johnson. As each of the ladies bowed their heads, the wife and expectant mother proceeded to pray: “Heavenly Father, we just thank You so much God. Thank You for being an awesome God. Thank You for being a consistent God.”

The minister’s daughter who was raised up in the church continued, “We just thank You so much for just being who You are in our lives. Thank You for Your presence in each of our households Lord God. You never let us down. You never let go of our hands.”

It is God’s guiding hand that the “Greenleaf” star relies on to know which way to go in life. “I just let Him lead with every single thing,” she told Essence in a 2014 interview. “I don’t get in the way. A lot of times we get in His way. We get in our own way, and it ends up taking us in the wrong direction.”

Luckett, who is expecting a baby boy with her husband Tommicus Walker with whom she shares a one-year-old daughter Gianna Iman, also attributed her first successful pregnancy to the power of prayer.

According to an Associated Press report, she said, “When you really hand the reins over and get out of the driver seat of your life, and really allow God to step in and do what He’s been doing all along and get out of the way, then boom...it happens.”

Because this woman of faith leads a lifestyle of prayer when the cameras aren’t rolling, she is able to comfortably and confidently lead her friends in prayer when the cameras are rolling.

“Thank You Father God that I have women that I can lean on, that I can call when I’m going through,” Luckett said, adding, “I thank You for Your love and Your presence. I thank You for Your blessings.”

It’s a beautiful thing to see sisters in Christ upholding each other in prayer.
